Ever try the game “HA!” It's easy and fun. Get a group of people to lay down at 90 degree angles to eachother with their heads on eachothers stomachs. Then the first person says “HA!” Watch the laughter spread down the line as everybody's head starts to bob. it's really amusing….

Great piece. BTW. The man with the most contagious laugh now has an iPhone app called The Laughman. Very contagious. He also appears in the film Laughology which shares many themes with your post. Great stuff.

this was one of the funniest things I have encountered to date. I saw the bumpersticker and even though I had no idea what it was (or that it came from SouthPark) I thought it in itself was hilarious.

I just joined Twine too and since laughter is one of my interests this post is one of the first things that I found on it. I enjoyed the post and very much agree with other commenters that laughter yoga absolutely should be part of this as contagious laughter is the basis for it.

@Update I do agree that is a Yogi laughing, but that is not really Laughter Yoga. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EGTETc5oFU is a much better clip. Laughter Yoga is about the group experience.
(That guy still cracks me up)

A good example of the Tom Hanks laughter would be the hysterical laughter scene from the movie “The Money Pit” where he is standing over the bathtub that just fell through the floor and he looks to his wife and starts laughing. Hilarious scene. Sometimes his plight in that movie just makes me go into fits of laughter. Similar to the Black Knight scene in the Holy Grail the first time I saw that. I could only get that same feeling once after the first time, that was the second time. Hope those are good examples.

I started laughing during my wedding to my first husband. Had everyone else laughing. Just wish that they realized the reason for my laughter and that someone would have stopped me!
