We all know (or should know) that in order to rank well in search engines, your site needs links. Your site needs lots of relevant, trusted links from a variety of sources before you can hear the organic traffic ringing the register.

Of course, if you’ve got a commercial site link building can seem impossible. Your competitors won’t be linking to you, Google is on a paid-link witch hunt and recprocal linking doesn’t seem to work anymore. The link directories are mostly worthless and you’re putting out press releases too frequently already, so how do you build the links you need?

The answer lies in the revolution occurring on the web right now, social media. On these sites your content can be submitted and if enough people like it your link will “go popular” and boatloads of people will see it (Think Digg’s homepage). More important than the potentially server-crushing amounts of traffic a popular social story can generate is the fact that the traffic is comprised of savvy social media users. Precisely the type of web users that have their own blogs, and exactly the type of user who finds cool things to blog about from a site like Digg.

What this means to you is that if you can create content that appeals to social media user and that content “goes popular” on one or more high traffic social sites, your site will be linked to from numerous sites around the web beyond the original social sites your content was submitted to. Other link building services often include link sources (like directories, paid links or reciprocal links) that Google has taken a stance against. On the other hand, Google engineer Matt Cutts has specifically mentioned that he considers viral “linkbait” a perfectly acceptable link building strategy and one he personally enjoys. Basically if you’re looking for a bunch of on-topic, organic links, my social media link building service isn’t just your best bet, its your only bet.
