In believe Ong's theory of secondary orality is being enacted in our time and people in general are becoming more narrative-oriented and less reflective and analytical. The web is more visual, even for text, than print, and, with images and links, is more like the immediacy and responsive flexibility of oral environments. The web is also more sensual, with colour and movement, and sound while the printed page is virtually asensual.
